2010–2011 Baja California Packages

Our newest offering is what we’re calling the "Mini" Long-Range Baja Trip—without the countless hours motoring between fishing grounds. NO OTHER CHARTER BUSINESS offers this package. Rather than boarding in San Diego and motoring for three days and nights to get to the fish, our clients simply fly to Cabo or La Paz, and they are fishing the next morning on the hallowed grounds of the East Cape... the ENTIRE East Cape.

We fell into this niche after a surgeon friend/client of ours from Anchorage, Alaska flew down here in early December for a solid week of fishing with his 12-year-old son. They wanted something "different" so we brainstormed the inaugural "New" Long-Range Baja Trip and they flew down to Cabo. The next morning we began our journey fishing the entire East Cape, foot by foot, all the way back to La Paz (150 miles). Each of the nights during the trip we stay two persons to a room in a different, classic East Cape hotel such as the Hotel Punta Colorada, BuenaVista, or Rancho Leonero among others for a spectacular dinner (your our own fresh caught fish, if desired), a monster breakfast, and a box lunch to go, and then it's on to the next hawg hole.

These trips are totally customizable, on a space available basis, and on the following pages you will see our most popular package described in more detail. The fact of the matter is, these voyages allow us to fish where the fish are. Each of the fishing grounds you see on the map above is well-known for certain species at certain times of the year, and we’re there.

5-Day/4-Night "ENTIRE East Cape Special": $1295 per person (4 pp)
  1. Day 1: Arrive at either Los Cabos (SJD airport) or La Paz (LAP airport), with personal pick up and transfer to either our San Jose del Cabo beachfront condominium or La Paz private residence; both include pools and air conditioning.
Night 1: Enjoy the comfort of your private, beachfront condo in San Jose with three swimming pools to choose from. Dinner is available at several spectacular local restaurants or you can cook-in with your own fully equipped kitchen. The "Mega" supermarket is within walking distance; no need to rent a vehicle or taxi.
  2. Day 2: We’ll pick up and shuttle you to the Marina to board "Little Sister", our tournament rigged, US owned and operated, 32’ Rampage Sportfisher for the first full day fishing where we’ll concentrate on the Gordo Banks outside San Jose del Cabo, or further north near Los Frailes or Punta Arena, depending upon current fishing conditions.
Night 2: Enjoy a fresh prepared local specialty or your own catch-of-the-day created in one of the renowned restaurants of the fishermen’s resorts. A couple of ice-cold Pacifico’s or a bottle of northern Baja’s best wine will help to cool down the chile salsa if you get carried away. The gorgeous rooms in each resort are uniquely appointed and you may even end up under the same roof that housed John Wayne or Bing Crosby in the middle of the 20th century.
  3. Day 3: Breakfast is served between 6 and 6:30 AM, before a 7:00 AM departure for the trophy fishing grounds nearby. This day will again provide access to trophy water and new fishing grounds, with species as varied as the techniques we’ll use to catch them. We’ll focus our efforts according to water temps and success of the "local" fleet the previous day.
Night 3: Identical to Night 2, but with a different locale/resort. The crew will fillet and stow the days catch while you get cleaned up, filled up, and ready for Day 4 at the next fishing ground(s). Order your next day’s to go lunch while at dinner.
  4. Day 4: Same scene, different day, and different water. We’ll fish both the southern and northern ends of Cerralvo Island (again, depending upon WHERE the fish are) while making our way around the corner into La Paz. Upon arrival, your catch can be vacuum-sealed and frozen (in either La Paz or San Jose del Cabo for shipment back home if desired).
Night 4: Back at your private residence in El Comitán (La Paz), relax and take a swim in your private pool while the BBQ is churning out your grub, or hit one of the many excellent restaurants in the neighborhood. Later, cruise into La Paz to see the action on the Boardwalk "Malecon", and visit one of the dozens of local nightclubs or attractions.
  5. Day 5: Sleep in a bit and spend the morning getting organized for your departure. The shuttle to the airport is based on your departure, or… stick around for a few more days!

News

03/15/2012
our Mexico has been (and still is) spectacular this year. The water has stayed warm and the fish friendly all season. Yellowtail are thick right now, and the dorado are showing already :-)

The New Year brings us good news, the striped marlin are here and they're hungry.  Over the Christmas holidays a nice mix of marlin, dorado and wahoo visited Little Sister and all but the marlin made appearances with their takers in either local restaurants or northbound coolers.  Water temps are holding in the upper 60's near San Jose and mid 70's further west.  There are still a few small holes in the Spring calendar, give us a call and we'll fill 'em up.

After spending 110 LONG days fishing Alaska, we're ready to switch gears and drop into tropical waters.  Some prime dates still available for the Fall season.  Drop us a line pfishnet2000@yahoo.com
